Plastic Surgery near Fort Lauderdale, FL

Plastic surgery has evolved exponentially over the past several decades. But, new innovations don’t get rid of the same reputation it’s had in the past. Patients often come into our office concerned that their plastic surgery procedures are going to make them look plastic. Dr. Levens and his team want to clear the air, and bust some myths about plastic surgery that concerns new patients every day.

MYTH: People will notice if you’ve had plastic surgery.

FACT: Plastic surgery nowadays has become more about enhancing your natural features, rather than completely changing them. New technologies and advanced techniques have helped doctors address the concerns of their patients without exaggerating their features. For example: when a lot of our newer patients think of a facelift or Botox®, they often associate the treatment with a wind-blown and frozen face. But, when looking at our before and after photo gallery, they’re stunned to see patients with a more naturally youthful and lifted appearance. When getting a procedure done with Dr. Levens, we assure you that no one will know unless you tell them.

MYTH: Plastic surgery is named after the materials used to change your appearance.

FACT: People often associate the term plastic surgery with the connotation that plastic is inserted into the body to modify it. In reality, the word “plastic” in plastic surgery is actually referring to the Greek origin of the word, which roughly translates to “to mold or to shape.” Plastic surgery is never intended to give patients the appearance that they have been made of plastic, rather it’s intended to remold or reshape the areas in which the patient would like to be treated.

MYTH: All plastic surgery is expensive.

FACT: When our patients come in asking about their procedure of interest, they are often concerned about how much the procedure is going to cost. We understand that plastic surgery isn’t affordable for everybody’s budget and lifestyle, which is why we do our best to try and make it as attainable as possible. Dr. Levens and his team are happy to offer patients financing options that help to break payments up into smaller, more manageable chunks. In addition to financing, we are always offering different specials that help you save some extra cash with no strings attached.
