Microneedling near Fort Lauderdale, FL
Most people don’t like knowing that they’re growing older, and even fewer enjoy looking that way. Fortunately, microneedling is a fast and simple treatment that can help you look younger. It can erase years from your appearance and enhance the smoothness and tone of your face. If you’re a resident of Fort Lauderdale or Broward County, you don’t have to dread looking your age anymore. Board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. David J. Levens, offers microneedling treatment for women and men who want to turn back the clock on their appearance, at his Coral Springs practice.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling uses a specialized motorized needling device that triggers your skin’s production of collagen and elastin. It also helps old scar tissue to break down and promotes the rapid formation of new, healthy skin cells to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. These factors combine to give you a fresher, younger appearance. Best of all, the end results look completely natural, so you can enhance your looks while still possessing your own natural beauty.
How Much Does Microneedling Cost?
The cost of microneedling is based upon an individual treatment plan that Dr. Levens develops during your consultation. After the appointment, we provide you with a total cost and explain our payment options, including cash, personal check, Visa®, MasterCard® and American Express®. If you are interested in financing your microneedling, our patient coordinators will explain how to apply for CareCredit®, Alphaeon Credit, or Prosper® Healthcare Lending.
Benefits of Microneedling
The biggest advantage microneedling offers is that the treatment can help you achieve healthy-looking, rejuvenated skin without the need for plastic surgery. The microneedling process encourages your skin to produce more collagen and elastin, which can significantly benefit the volume and texture of your face. However, this procedure also offers a variety of other benefits:
- There is little or no pain associated with the procedure.
- It helps reduce the appearance of scar tissue, fine lines, and wrinkles.
- It won’t result in scarring.
- The treatment can be used for both women and men of any age.
- There is minimal downtime for recovery so you can get back to your life far sooner than with surgery.
Good Candidates for Microneedling
Ideal candidates for the microneedling procedure are men or women who are tired of struggling with wrinkles, lines or scars. People who want to achieve a smoother, more youthful appearance and are willing to commit to a series of microneedling treatments will also benefit from the procedure. Many people require several treatments in order to see optimal results, and these will be performed about every four to six weeks.
The special device used in the microneedling procedure is passed over the skin and penetrates into the outermost layers. Before the treatment, Dr. Levens and his team will cleanse your skin and apply an anesthetic cream to ensure your comfort. Next, he will move the small microneedling device, which is sterile, over your face. The disposable tip features 12 very tiny needles that rapidly puncture the skin about two millimeters deep.
This effectively and safely produces minute “wounds” in the skin’s outer layers. Your skin responds to these wounds by increasing its production of collagen and elastin, a natural healing process that fills in the punctures, increases skin volume and helps it look smoother. As a result, wrinkles, scars, and lines are made less noticeable.
After the microneedling procedure, Dr. Levens may use a variety of products on your face to promote hydration and healing while also protecting your skin. These creams help improve healing time and let you see results after just a few days. You may need to undergo additional treatments four to six weeks apart in order to obtain the best possible results.
Recovery After Microneedling
After your microneedling treatment, your skin may appear red, much like a sunburn. It may also tingle or feel warm for the next one to two days. You can resume your normal daily routine and activities right away. To help minimize redness, you may wish to use a mineral or hyaluronic acid product on the treated areas of your face. It’s also strongly recommended to use a zinc-based sunscreen to help shield your skin from damaging UV rays after your procedure.
