Dysport near Fort Lauderdale, FL
In his Coral Springs plastic surgery practice, board certified plastic surgeon Dr. David J. Levens offers treatments of Dysport® to the residents of Fort Lauderdale and Broward County. When injected beneath the surface of many types of facial wrinkles and folds, Dysport® causes the visible wrinkle to smooth out. This, in effect, helps the patient to look younger and refreshed.
What is Dysport®?
Dysport® is essentially equivalent to Botox and similarly focuses on the muscle of facial expression. Over time, expression lines can form on our skin. This is often seen near the eyes in the appearance of crow’s feet and can be caused by smiling. To combat these lines, Dr. Levens will inject Dysport® into the muscle beneath the wrinkle. When it enters the muscle, Dysport® works to limit contraction of the muscle, helping the skin above to smooth out.
How Much Does Dysport® Cost?
The cost of Dysport® treatment is based upon an individual treatment plan that Dr. Levens develops during your consultation. After the appointment, we provide you with a total cost and explain our payment options, including cash, personal check, Visa®, MasterCard® and American Express®. If you are interested in financing your Dysport® treatments, our patient coordinators will explain how to apply for CareCredit®, Alphaeon Credit, or Prosper® Healthcare Lending.
Benefits of Dysport®
Dysport® is designed to temporarily paralyze certain muscles of your brow and forehead area that cause lines and wrinkles. The treatments:
- Take less than one hour.
- Require no downtime.
- Give immediate results.
- Have minimal side effects.
Good Candidates for Dysport®
Patients who are healthy, nonsmokers may be ideal candidates for Dysport® treatments. You should ask Dr. Levens about your options for Dysport® if you struggle with:
- Facial lines and wrinkles.
- Crow’s feet.
In your consultation with Dr. Levens, he will discuss your cosmetic goals with you and create a unique treatment plan. He will also use his own keen aesthetic eye to determine ideal treatment points for your Dysport® procedure.

What Happens During Dysport® Treatment?
Prior to your treatment of Dysport®, your skin will be cleansed. An anesthetic is usually not necessary for a treatment of Dysport®, but an ice pack may be applied, in some cases, to improve your comfort. Using careful techniques, Dr. Levens will inject a conservative amount of the Dysport® solution beneath the surface of your skin at the site of the wrinkle. When injected into the muscle, the solution will begin to work to constrict the movement of the muscle, though an immediate correction may not be visible. Dr. Levens may again apply an ice pack to soothe the treatment site.
When you leave Dr. Levens' practice, you will be given aftercare instructions to follow for the coming days. While you may be able to return to your normal routine, you will be asked to stay upright for several hours. You should also avoid strenuous activity and alcohol for about 24 hours, which will help ensure and ideal result from your treatment.
After several days, you will experience the smoothing effects of Dysport®. The wrinkles treated by Dr. Levens will be greatly diminished. The effects of your treatment of Dysport® can last three to six months. As the benefits of Dysport® begin to wear off, you may wish to return to Dr. Levens office for touch-up treatments, which will maintain the smoother appearance of your skin.
