What Is MandeliClear Peel?

If you suffer from sun-damaged skin (also known as photodamage), acne, or melasma, a rejuvenating MandeliClear Peel from Dr. Levens Med Spa is a safe, well-tolerated, gentle and naturally derived peel system that can attenuate and minimize pigmentation issues characteristic of darker Fitzpatrick skin types, while still being an excellent solution for any skin type with pigmentation issues due to acne, melasma or photo-damaged skin. Mandelic acid is derived from almond (“mandel” is the German term for almond) and wild cherry sources combined with quillaja bark. A MandeliClear Peel can be thought of as a modified Jessner’s peel, in that it contains a similarly composed formula, including lactic acid, salicylic acid, and resorcinol.

Benefits of a MandeliClear Peel

Underneath the surface of your skin is a deeper layer of untouched, fresh skin ready to be revealed as the new surface of your skin, potentially giving you fresher-looking more youthful new skin, if you could only just tap into your native potential. You can now, and your quick and convenient MandeliClear Peel is specifically formulated for those patients with darker skin colors (also known as darker Fitzpatrick skin types), although it’s appropriate for use with all skin types. The benefits of MandeliClear Peel when professionally applied with an experienced practitioner such as Dr. Levens Medical Aesthetician is that it will exfoliate dead skin cells and help you to regenerate and rejuvenate your healthy skin cells just below the surfacewhile exfoliating old dead skin cells that are currently clouding your complexion.

What Happens During Your MandeliClear Peel

The MandeliClear system contains 7% lactic, 7% salicylic and 7% resorcinol, all grounded in an ethanol base with quillaja bark. It also contains 9% mandelic acid and as a peel, it is a gentle, well-tolerated and safe treatment that takes about 30 minutes to complete. After your MandeliClear Peel, you can return to your daily routine immediately. The procedure is simple, and following a careful cleansing of the area to be treated, Dr. Levens Medical Aesthetician will expertly apply the MandeliClear peel on your skin, allowing enough time for the active ingredients to sink in before removing it, after which time your skin will be washed, and then a gentle moisturizer will be applied.

After Your MandeliClear Peel

The perfect peel for pigmentation of all skin types, especially darker skin, following your MandeliClear Peel treatment, you may observe some slight pink or red discoloration for a few hours, which is perfectly normal and the discoloration will disappear quickly. You can immediately return to your normal daily activities, including applying makeup which is permitted as well, but as with any chemical peel the most important thing to do after your treatment is to wear a good sunscreen to protect your skin during this sensitive recovery phase. It’s quite normal as well to observe some mild follow-up peeling during the following week as your treatment takes effect. Dr. Levens Medical Aesthetician will go over the recovery process during your consultation so you can make an informed decision about whether or not the benefits of a MandeliClear Peel are right for you.
