Thigh Lift near Fort Lauderdale, FL
Men and women can develop extra fat on their thighs. Over time, the skin loses elasticity so despite your best efforts to tone and strengthen your inner and outer thigh muscles, the skin simply hangs loose. If you are looking for a plastic surgeon in the Fort Lauderdale and Broward County area who can help smooth and contour your thighs, rely on the expertise of Dr. David J. Levens, a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in thigh lift surgery.
What is a Thigh Lift?
Thighplasty is for reshaping and slimming down the inner or outer thighs. Commonly called a thigh lift, the surgery treats loose skin, excess fat and poor shape in the thighs. At our practice in Coral Springs, a thigh lift is often combined with other body sculpting procedures, for patients who have experienced major weight loss.
Benefits of a Thigh Lift
Thigh lift surgery can be performed on the inner and outer thigh area, including the lower section of the hips. The surgery removes excess skin and fat to give your thighs a shapely, natural appearance. Men and women who have the surgery feel more confident about wearing clothing that exposes their thighs, such as swimsuits and shorts.
Good Candidates for a Thigh Lift
Thigh lift surgery is best for treating:
- Fat in the inner thighs
- Sagging skin on inner/outer thighs
If you’re not satisfied with the appearance of your thighs, or if you feel that they stand between you and your best body shape, then a thigh lift may be right for you. During a consultation, Dr. Levens can determine if thighplasty will work to achieve your goals. Here in Coral Springs, Dr. Levens can educate you about the risks, benefits and expected outcome of a thigh lift. You’ll also have the opportunity to view many plastic surgery before and after photos.
For patients who have extra fat in the thighs, liposuction alone may be the best option. If you’ve undergone significant weight loss, Dr. Levens may recommend body sculpting procedures such as body lift, tummy tuck, Brazilian Butt Lift or liposuction. You can discuss these options with Dr. Levens during your appointment.

What Happens During Thigh Lift Surgery?
Thigh lift surgery is a two to three-hour outpatient procedure. A general anesthetic is typically required. Dr. Levens will mark the areas of the thighs that are planned for reshaping. He will then perform incisions along the inner thighs, which may extend toward the knees. Sagging, loose skin is removed from the thighs while fat is removed with liposuction.
Recovery after Thigh Lift Surgery
Recovery after a thigh lift will require approximately two to three weeks. Dr. Levens will send you home with specific instructions for this time. Patients usually need to get plenty of rest and limit their physical activities. Dr. Levens may advise you to keep your legs elevated and wear special compression garments. After recovery, you will be able to see the results: firmer, slimmer thighs – without uncomfortable loose skin.
Dr. Levens works with Contour MD to offer garments for patients to wear after plastic surgery in Coral Springs.
How Much Does a Thigh Lift Cost?
The cost of thigh lift surgery is based upon an individual treatment plan that Dr. Levens develops during your consultation. After the appointment, we provide you with a total cost and explain our payment options, including cash, personal check, Visa®, MasterCard® and American Express®. If you are interested in financing your thigh lift, our patient coordinators will explain how to apply for CareCredit®, Alphaeon Credit, or Prosper® Healthcare Lending.
