What is Facial Surgery?
Facial surgery by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. David J. Levens can help you correct the cosmetic concerns you have with your skin, fat, and bone structure. The surgeries can reduce lines, wrinkles, folds and creases that are caused by the aging process. Dr. Levens may also recommend facial surgery to enhance the overall balance of your features, giving you a more proportionate and attractive appearance.
How Much Does Facial Surgery Cost?
The cost of facial surgery is based upon an individual treatment plan that Dr. Levens develops during your consultation. After the appointment, we provide you with a total cost and explain our payment options, including cash, personal check, Visa®, MasterCard® and American Express®. If you are interested in financing your facial surgery, our patient coordinators will explain how to apply for CareCredit®, Alphaeon Credit, or Prosper® Healthcare Lending.
Benefits of Facial Surgery
Facial surgery encompasses several techniques that Dr. Levens uses to help his patients feel more confident about the overall look of their faces or specific features that they find troublesome. Facial surgery is recommended for:
- Anti-aging to soften lines, wrinkles, creases and folds. Dr. Levens often recommends skin rejuvenation in conjunction with your facial surgery to improve the texture of your skin.
- Repairing trauma-related damage or congenital abnormalities.
- Enhancing facial features, such as the chin and cheeks, which give you a more defined, balanced profile.

A brow lift restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. The procedure corrects drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make a person appear angry, sad or tired.
Blepharoplasty is a procedure to contour skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes.
Otoplasty, or ear surgery, is done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears and can improve self-image. Dr. Levens performs this procedure on children as young as 5 years old.
Chin surgery, also known as mentoplasty, is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin either by enhancement with an implant or reduction surgery on the bone, depending on your needs as assessed by Dr. Levens in your consultation.
A facelift is designed to reduce or improve signs of aging in the lower and middle areas of the face and neck. This is achieved by removing excess facial fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck.
During the fat transfer, fat cells are extracted from a harvest site and reinjected beneath the facial skin. Fat can correct skin depressions, minimize forehead wrinkles or enhance the lips. Dr. Levens may use this as an alternative to injectable fillers.
Neck lift surgery can correct visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your neck. Good candidates have looseness confined to the neck only.
If fat excess is the problem and the skin is not loose, then liposuction techniques allow plastic surgeons to improve areas of the neck. Dr. Levens recommends neck liposuction to sculpt fat of the neck an area that often shows the earliest signs of aging.
Am I a Good Candidate for Facial Surgery?
Most adults are good candidates for facial surgery as long as they have realistic expectations of the procedure. Teenagers and children need special consideration for facial surgery, as their bone structure may not be fully developed.
