Dermaplaning in Fort Lauderdale, FL

If you live in Fort Lauderdale or Broward County and often experience dull facial skin or acne, dermaplaning, may be the non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatment you need to achieve brighter, healthier skin. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. David J. Levens offers dermaplaning at his Coral Springs practice.

What Is Dermaplaning?

Unlike chemical peels, dermaplaning is a painless and affordable skin rejuvenation treatment that uses an esthetician-grade, sterile blade to tone, resurface and touch-up your skin. In many cases, dermaplaning is used to prevent acne breakouts, as well as a quick solution to give your skin a more youthful glow.

How Much Does Dermaplaning Cost?

Dermaplaning is different for every patient, and because of that, so is the cost. Additionally, since it is considered a cosmetic procedure, it is not usually covered by insurance. To help our patients cover the cost of their dermaplaning treatment, the office of Dr. David J. Levens accepts most major credit cards, cash, and checks, as well as financing through CareCredit® and Prosper® Healthcare Lending.

Benefits of Dermaplaning:

Dermaplaning has many immediate and long-term benefits, including:

  • Offering a non-surgical, non-chemical solution to improving your skin tone and texture.
  • Facilitating hair removal.
  • Removing dead skin cells and impurities to promote good skin health.
  • It’s a harmless and pain-free procedure, making it ideal for patients with sensitive skin.

How Does Dermaplaning Work?

Dermaplaning is a safe, painless skin rejuvenation procedure that takes about 30 minutes to complete. It can be performed once every four to six weeks for more advanced skin corrections. After applying a mild anesthetic, a handheld dermatome blade is placed against your skin at a 45-degree angle and then gently grazed across the skin, similar to shaving. This procedure can be performed on any skin tone, and has short recovery time – making it a good option for men and women with busy work schedules.

Dermaplaning Recovery

After your dermaplaning procedure, you might experience slight redness and swelling for up to 48 hours. In general, immediately after treatment, your skin will start to feel tighter, smoother and younger.Dermaplaning helps creams and serums work more effectively, and is a quick, longstanding way to immediately revitalize the skin and remove unwanted facial hair.
