After your procedure, you will be able to enjoy sunny summer days in Boca Raton, Florida, with renewed confidence and beauty.

What is Liposuction?

Liposuction offers fantastic results for men and women who have unsightly fat pockets that are resistant to dietary changes and exercise. The reduction of these fat deposits can transform your entire appearance by more evenly distributing your weight, leading to a slender, smooth outline. Liposuction can dramatically enhance the way you look in slacks, bathing suits, and other close-fitting clothes.

Liposuction patients find that they no longer have to purchase baggy garments to cover unsightly fat bulges in places like the thighs, hips, buttocks, or upper arms. Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty, is a medical procedure involving the use of small tubes placed into tiny incisions to remove excess fat deposits. Common treatment areas are the upper arms, neck, upper, and lower abdomen, inner thighs, back, flank areas, knee areas, buttocks, ankles, and calves.

Would I Make a Good Candidate for Liposuction?

If you have local fat deposits and are not extremely overweight, you will probably make a good candidate for a liposuction.

An important factor to consider before your liposuction procedure is the health of your skin. When fat is removed, the skin lacks its previous elasticity and can become loose and flabby. Following your procedure, you may find that loose skin detracts from your otherwise slim appearance. The elasticity of your skin prior to surgery will determine its appearance after your surgery. Those with tighter skin tend to have better results.

What Happens During Liposuction?

Your liposuction begins with Dr. Levens drawing precise lines on the body to mark the areas to be treated. He will then make tiny incisions where needed and insert a small suction tube into each incision to the depth of the fat deposit. He then will pass the tube back and forth until the necessary amount of fat is removed. The entire area will be treated this way, removing additional fat at each step as Dr. Levens ensures that the contours are exactly as you imagined. After Dr. Levens has suctioned one side of your body, he will treat the opposite side in the same manner. Then he will compare each side to ensure symmetry.

Dr. Levens will begin finishing your liposuction procedure by carefully closing the incisions and placing a dressing or elastic garment over the area to prevent fluid from accumulating in the treated area. He will carefully close each incision using stitches that leave minimal scars. You will be able to resume showering or bathing within a few days.
