Marilyn Monroe’s iconic look may have received a little bit of help.
Marilyn Monroe has become one of the most iconic figures of American pop culture. Her appearance of a natural and effortless beauty has always been admired by men and women alike. However, it turns out that the Some Like it Hot starlet may have had a little bit of plastic surgery.
According to Reuters, there is a set of physician’s notes and X-Rays confirming that Marilyn Monroe had undergone plastic surgery that will be going on auction next month. The notes are penned by famous Hollywood plastic surgeon, Michael Gurdin.
The notes are said to contain information on a small rhinoplasty procedure (nose surgery) that Monroe had done during the mid-1950s. Among the X-Rays were scans of Monroe’s frontal facial bones, teeth, and her chest.
STILL a natural beauty
Despite her small cosmetic procedures, Monroe was able to preserve a natural look that continues to stand the tests of time as an example of femininity and elegance. It is unlikely that this new information on Monroe’s plastic surgery will change any of that for the Hollywood icon – although they will reel in a nice profit at auction (an estimated $15,000 – $30,000!).
One of the common misconceptions about plastic surgery is that it will leave patients with an unnatural appearance. Yes, when done the wrong way by the wrong hands, you can end up with a look that is not quite right.
