Breast Lift near Fort Lauderdale, FLAlso known as a mastopexy procedure, the breast lift involves the removal and adjustment of breast tissue in order to create breasts that are higher and firmer. A mastopexy may also address the size or position of the nipples.

As each woman’s breasts age differently, the mastopexy procedure may vary significantly. However, the basic principle is the same for most cases. For those who require a greater adjustment, the mastopexy may be combined with a breast augmentation or a breast reduction.

Mastopexy as a Natural Alternative to Breast Augmentation

As the mastopexy procedure does not involve the addition of any material to the body, many women choose it to address changes made through having children. As such, it provides many of the same benefits as breast augmentation, such as firmness and a more youthful appearance, without increasing volume.

Since it does not disturb the chest muscles, the breast lift procedure has a shorter recovery time than breast augmentation, and women may often return to work or normal activities within a few days of their breast lift.

The mastopexy procedure generally involves small incisions around the nipple, under the breast, or along a vertical line between these two incision spots. Through the incision the outer layer of breast tissue is adjusted and secured in place if needed. Any excess tissue or skin is removed and the incision is closed, creating a firmer, more youthful appearance to the breasts.

In some cases, the nipple may need to be repositioned or resized. Women who have their nipples adjusted are often still able to breastfeed normally in the future if needed, though as a general rule, a breast lift should be postponed until you are done having children, as it may cause changes in the body that could require further revision.
