Dr. Levens Chosen for "Ultimate Makeover" Team

Coral Springs Plastic Surgeon David J. Levens has been selected as team Cosmetic Surgeon for the new "Ultimate Makeover Project" which will provide one or more free makeovers yearly to deserving women nominated by local charities. The Ultimate Makeovers, performed by a select 10-member team of South Florida physicians and professionals with varied specialties, may include cosmetic dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics, plastic surgery, hair restoration, laser eye surgery, dietetics, personal training, hair/make-up, and even psychological therapy.

Ultimate Makeover Project, an independent organization founded by Nottingham Consulting Group, will also raise money for a designated charity each year. The charity for 2010/2011 is Women In Distress, the only nationally accredited, state-certified, full service domestic violence center serving Florida's Broward County.

"It is a genuine honor to participate in this program because Ultimate Makeover isn't about Hollywood glitz and tv ratings," says Dr. Levens. "It's about making a real difference in the lives of good people who cannot afford the kinds of transformational services this team can achieve. Our whole staff is excited about this makeover concept and looking forward to taking part in the charitable fundraising events for Women in Distress.

Project team members were selected by an independent panel including Dr. George Kolos, President of the Broward County Dental Association, Sarah Franco, Executive Director for JAFCO Foster Care, and Dr. Barbara Martin, Internist. The 10 selection criteria included professional credentials, education, published works, patient testimonials and community service.

Dr. Levens has practiced plastic, cosmetic and reconstruction surgery in Coral Springs since 1989 and has served as Chief of Surgery and Vice Chief of Staff at Coral Springs Medical Center. He was named a "Top Doc" in Castle Connolly's national ratings for 2010 and has been voted #1 cosmetic surgeon numerous times by readers of the Coral Springs/Parkland Forum. Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, he is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Dr. Levens makes annual Medical Missions to Ecuador to perform surgery on needy children and teens, and is the monthly cosmetic surgery columnist for Life Magazines in Boca Raton, Parkland and Coconut Creek.
