Thermage

Thermage is a skin-tightening treatment offered here at our Coral Springs plastic surgery practice. Thermage uses radiofrequency technology that heats the deepest layers of your tissue, which promotes the creation of new collagen as well as the tightening of existing collagen. This helps the skin to appear more taut and youthful.
Good Candidates for Thermage in Coral Springs
Patients who exhibit loose skin on many parts of the face and are otherwise healthy, are usually good candidates for Thermage. While Thermage cannot reverse severely drooping skin, for many patients it can correct skin that has begun to sag with age.
People often undergo Thermage treatments to correct loose skin on the face, such as the jowls. Thermage was the first FDA approved non-invasive treatment for loose skin on the eyelids. Additionally, Thermage may also be used as a treatment for acne scars, as well as a treatment for acne for some patients.
During your consultation, we can discuss your aesthetic goals and devise a Thermage treatment plan designed to target your specific needs.
What Happens During a Thermage Treatment?
Depending on the condition of your skin and the size of the affected area, your Thermage treatment can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. During your treatment, a Thermage device will be gently passed over the surface of your skin, delivering the radiofrequency waves to the deepest layers of skin. The outer layers of your skin will remain unaffected. This process promotes the growth of new collagen, which will occur over time.
After Thermage
When you leave Dr. Levens' practice following your Thermage treatment, you should expect little to no downtime and you should be able to return to your normal activities immediately.
The collagen regeneration process will take place over the next one to six months, though some patients may witness an improvement in lax skin even sooner. For most patients, just one treatment is necessary to promote optimal tightening of the skin. As long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, avoid prolonged sun exposure and care for your skin, the beautiful effects of your Thermage treatment will maintain well.
