Dr. Levens explains
that “Botox® works by weakening specific muscles of facial expression
so that the contractions cannot continue to occur. Without the repeated
contraction, the lines and wrinkles fade dramatically though complete
eradication cannot be guaranteed.
“Botox® is injected with a tiny needle directly into the affected
areas. There is no pain, or at most possibly a mild stinging, which
lasts only a second or two. Treatment takes only a few seconds for each
area.”
Though the maximum positive effect of a Botox®
treatment may not be noticed for several days or weeks in some

“I can feel the facial muscles start relaxing within an hour and

Now 40, Anne continues to have the treatments every 4-5 months. About
two years ago, Dr. Levens began treating Anne’s “crows feet” with Botox®
